Requirements
A running list of what you asked the app to do, and the decisions behind it.
A running list of what you asked the app to do, and the decisions behind it.
As you chat, the agent writes down what you ask for and why. Open the Requirements tab from the + button next to Preview to check the agent understood you, or to remember why the app works the way it does.
The agent also reads the list before changing the app. If a new request contradicts an earlier decision, it points that out and asks before going ahead, so a later change doesn’t undo an earlier choice by accident.
The list is grouped by area of the app, such as Sign-in, Orders or Admin. Each area has:
## Sign-in
REQ-001. People sign in with Google; only staff emails get in.
### REQ-001: Sign in with Google
- User should be able to sign in with their Google account.
- User should see an error when their email isn't a company one.
### Decisions
- **2026-09-30: Only @acme.com emails can sign in.** The app is for staff.
The agent updates the list during the same turn as the change it describes. It doesn’t add questions or behind-the-scenes changes such as a refactor. For an app that already existed, it starts from the requests you make from now on.
The agent also writes a browser test for each requirement it can check in a browser, and runs them before it finishes. Each requirement shows a badge with how its tests did; click it to watch them in the Tests tab.
Requirements tracking is on for every project. Use the switch at the top of the Requirements tab, or in Tools → Agent Skills, to turn it off or back on. The agent follows the change from its next run. Turning it off keeps the list; the agent just stops adding to it, and stops writing and running tests.
The list lives in the app’s repository at .onedrop/REQ.md, OneDrop’s own folder, so it’s committed and backed up with the app. An app’s own REQ.md or SPEC.md is never touched. When tracking is on, the agent follows a guide (/opt/onedrop/guides/requirements.md in the sandbox) added to its instructions, whichever agent the project uses.
Tasks write to their own copy of the app; their additions show in the tab once you apply the task to Main.
